Pittsburgh –
McKnight Realty Partners has a taker for the top floor of the western tower at The Highline, the company’s redevelopment of the historic terminal building on the South Side, just east of Station Square.
In an expected move, Maxim Healthcare announced on its Facebook page that it will celebrate an open house at its new office at The Highline at the end of June.
Based in Maryland, Maxim is a national company with 215 offices throughout the country that specializes in home health care and staffing services, among others.
Izzy Rudolph, president of development and acquisitions for McKnight, said Maxim’s top floor lease of the west building totals more than 30,000 square feet of space.
He said the move enables the firm to combine a few smaller suburban offices into a larger one in the city with room for expansion.
He added, “I think the character of the space is what drew them to the project” and expects the unique space at the redevelopment will appeal to the firm as it works to attract and retain new talent.
Rudolph reports that construction on the redevelopment of the parking bridge through the terminal structure into the highline urban park is expected to “start any day now,” a construction project that includes building out a biergarten for Sly Fox Brewing Co.
He added that 150,000 square feet of office space in the west tower is leased to a mix of newcomers as well as extended and expanded tenants already at the complex.
A redevelopment of the 250,000-square-foot east tower is still to come.
